absolute truths

We  live in the postmodern age where truths are relative,  personal, and fluid. Our list of Absolute Truths is maintained, in part, to trivialize postmodern philosophy. In addition, it give us an opportunity to highlight important ideas from time to time. We started the list with two absolute truths, but will be adding more as we cover important subjects in our reports.

 1.  Paper Analysis:   Cost increases and decreases have no significant impact on paper prices…until prices fall to variable costs (high-cost producers).

2.  Politics/Economics:   Economic equality and equal opportunity are mutually exclusive.

3.  Science:   Real scientists may eat quiche, but they never, ever, lose important data. Real scientists “show their work”.

4. Science:   Scientific theories, to maintain credibility, must not only explain the past, but also predict future discoveries and/or scientific knowledge. Theories must be falsifiable.
